Want to Have a Tattoo Safely Removed, but Don’t Know Where to Go?
There could be many reasons a person wants to get rid of his/her tattoos. While there are a few ways this can be done, the quickest and most effective tattoo removal is done by Laser. Fortunately, advances in technology mean that most modern lasers can remove unwanted tattoos permanently and effectively. Unfortunately, however, due to a lack of regulation in the tattoo removal industry, tattoo removal is often carried out by inexperienced and poorly or untrained operators.
Scarring and burning are often caused by unqualified operators using high-powered lasers, poor techniques or cheap equipment. In saying that, it is important to note that simply using the latest or most expensive equipment does not necessarily guarantee safe and risk-free results. Scarring and pigmentation can result from improperly applied treatments for tattoo removal.
Laser Tattoo removal is a procedure that carries risks of scarring, wound infection and allergic reactions. Lasers are fantastic machines, but like any other sophisticated equipment, can be dangerous in unqualified hands; remember that the machine operator is as important as the machine itself.
There are many cases where a Salon owner simply purchases a machine and starts using it for treatments with little or no training. We have even heard of cases where unskilled operators just turn the machine up as high as it will go to try and remove the tattoo quickly, resulting in burnt skin and a lifelong scar. Laser tattoo removal simply does not work this way, as there is no safe method to remove a tattoo in one treatment. All single treatment methods such as infrared coagulation, surgical excision, dermabrasion and acid de-tattooing will damage the skin and leave a scar. The number of laser tattoo removal treatments needed differs from person to person and depends on the size, colour and type of tattoo ink, the depth of tattoo etc. etc.
Those intending to have their tattoos removed are strongly advised to only deal with clinics that offer a full and extensive pre-treatment assessment and practitioners who are certified to use the lasers; if not, they should look elsewhere for treatment.
At Beauty-thru-Nature Skin & Laser Clinic, we have a very strict and thorough process in place, to ensure that the best and most effective course of treatment is undertaken. We offer a free consultation, during which the consultant will explain the procedure and answer all your questions. We will need to know your medical history and any medications being taken, to determine, for instance, how photosensitive you are, in order to assess the right energy to use relative to your medication. When we begin sessions, each will last around 25 minutes, but the laser treatment itself is very fast. Tattoo removal treatments are conducted at six to eight weekly intervals.
Our laser therapists are fully trained and certified by Queensland Radiation Health. We have the experience that enables us to properly and accurately assess your skin tone, colour, and tattoo types to be able to choose the appropriate settings for tattoo removal.
Your skin is the largest organ that you have and protects your body throughout your life; so it is up to you to give it the care and respect it deserves!
